Ask "how to breed bellanoir palworld" in any community right now and you'll get three contradictory answers: some say you can't breed it at all, some cite a recipe, and some paste a chart from 2024. All three are partially right and partially stale — Palworld 1.0 changed the rules, and Bellanoir is one of the clearest cases of why you stop trusting pre-1.0 breeding info. The short version: Bellanoir has exactly one breeding combo in the current data, and its variant Bellanoir Libero can't be bred into existence at all — you raid for the first one. Everything below is checked against the 1.0 files (paldb.cc) as of August 2026.
What Bellanoir Actually Is
Bellanoir (Paldex #195, Dark) is a Legendary-rarity Pal (rarity 20) that pulls double duty:
- Combat: S-tier. Base stats of HP 120 / Attack 150 / Defense 100, with a partner skill that scales a 600-power move into the 1.1–2.5× damage range.
- Base work: Handiwork 5 / Medicine 5 / Transporting 4. Its Libero variant pushes that to Handiwork 6 / Medicine 7 — the single best medicine producer in the game.
The partner skill chain is where it gets interesting. Bellanoir's Nightmare Iris calls down Nightmare Ray; Bellanoir Libero's Nightmare Stare calls down Nightmare Bloom. Both are 600-power Dark exclusives, and both get a ×1.1 → ×2.5 damage multiplier as the partner skill ranks 1 → 5. For long sustained fights, the current community consensus (including the analysis in our 1.0 build breakdown) is that a properly built Libero with Nightmare Bloom out-damages even the famous infinite-bomb Gorirat — it just trades the one-shot spectacle for consistent throughput.
The Breeding Reality in 1.0: One Combo, and It's Not What the Old Charts Say
Bellanoir's hidden CombiRank is 620. In the 1.0 combination table there is exactly one hardcoded unique combo that produces it:
Bellanoir + Bellanoir Libero → Bellanoir
That's it. The pre-1.0 recipes you'll find in old guides are dead — this is a raid Pal, and Pocketpair deliberately kept it out of the ordinary rank-average formula. Two Bellanoir do breed true (same-species rule), so once you own the species you can roll passives indefinitely by pairing two of them. But you cannot get a Bellanoir from any ordinary parent pair, and that's not a data error.
Bellanoir Libero: The Pal You Can't Breed Into Existence
This is the part that confuses everyone. Bellanoir Libero (Paldex #195B) is a self-only Pal — CombiRank 130, and the only pair that produces it is Libero × Libero. The first Libero in any save has to be obtained, not bred:
- Twilight Siren raid — the Libero raid boss, spawning at level 45 (and an Ultra variant at 80). This is the primary source.
- Eclipsed Siren raid (level 35) is the corresponding Bellanoir raid, and the more accessible of the two.
So the practical progression is: raid Eclipsed Siren for your first Bellanoir → raid Twilight Siren for your first Libero → then breed Bellanoir × Libero to produce more Bellanoir, and Libero × Libero to roll better passives onto your Libero line. A Bellanoir male is also a rare spawn (10% male ratio), so gender luck factors into your first few breeds.
Step-by-Step: From Zero to a Bred Bellanoir
- Raid Eclipsed Siren (Lv 35). Bring Dragon-type counters — Bellanoir's weakness is Dragon — and enough spheres for a Legendary-tier capture. Drops are Dark Fragments (2–3).
- Raid Twilight Siren (Lv 45) for Libero. Same prep, harder fight. Consider the Ultra variant only if you're already endgame.
- Breed Bellanoir × Bellanoir Libero at the Breeding Farm with a Cake in the chest. Result: Bellanoir, every time.
- Roll passives. Two Bellanoir → Bellanoir, or two Libero → Libero, is your passive re-roll loop. Expect a ~10%-per-egg perfect-4/4 rate from a clean 4-passive pool; keep the parents purified to 1–2 passives each.
Passives, Skill Kits, and the Bellanoir vs Libero Trade
| Bellanoir (#195) | Bellanoir Libero (#195B) | |
|---|---|---|
| HP / Atk / Def | 120 / 150 / 100 | 120 / 150 / 100 |
| Handiwork / Medicine | 5 / 5 | 6 / 7 |
| Partner skill | Nightmare Iris → Nightmare Ray | Nightmare Stare → Nightmare Bloom |
| Fixed innate | — | Siren of the Void (+30% Dark / +30% Ice) |
| Male ratio | 10% | 10% |
Libero carries a fixed innate: Siren of the Void (+30% Dark attack, +30% Ice attack). Treat that as a locked slot and build around it:
- Combat build: Legend + Siren of the Void + Ferocious + Musclehead — straight Dark burst, amplifying Nightmare Bloom's 600 power and the 2.5× partner multiplier.
- Medicine base build: Artisan + Remarkable Craftsmanship + Serious — Siren of the Void stays irrelevant but harmless.
Inheritance follows the standard 40/30/20/10% roll per egg, so the clean-pool purification step matters exactly as much here as anywhere else. And note the ×1.1 → ×2.5 multiplier scales with Pal Condensation rank 1 → 5 — a maxed Libero hits far harder than a base one, at the cost of 116 condensed duplicates.
The Efficiency Bottleneck (and the Tool I Ended Up Writing)
Here's what the guides skip: Bellanoir is a parent in 80 different species in the 1.0 table, and Libero in 70. Once you own one, you're holding a universal breeding asset — but figuring out which of those 80 targets you can actually reach from your current Palbox, with the right gender pairs and a clean passive chain, is where the real time goes. Manual route-planning through a 41,000-cell table is exactly the kind of thing that burns an evening.
To cut that down, I wrote a small solver called PalForge (palbreedingcalc.com). You drop your level.sav into it, it reads your actual Palbox locally in the browser, and it returns the shortest multi-generation route to any target — Bellanoir, Bellanoir Libero, or anything you'd use them to produce — with per-step passive-inheritance odds. Free, zero uploads, and it only recommends parents you actually own.
Honest limitations: it parses save files only (no manual-inventory mode in the current build), the UI is utilitarian, and for the very first Libero the correct answer is always "go raid," not "breed" — the solver will tell you exactly that instead of sending you on an impossible chain. It's a tool I maintain because I run these routes weekly myself.
FAQ
Can you breed Bellanoir in Palworld 1.0?
Yes — but only via its single unique combo: Bellanoir + Bellanoir Libero. Ordinary parent pairs never produce it.
How do you get Bellanoir Libero?
It's self-only. The first one comes from the Twilight Siren raid (Lv 45 / Ultra 80); after that, Libero × Libero reproduces the species for passive rolling.
What is Bellanoir's weakness?
Dragon. Bring Dragon-element attackers to its raids.
Is Bellanoir or Bellanoir Libero better?
Libero for damage (Nightmare Bloom + Siren of the Void) and for base work (Medicine 7). Bellanoir is the cheaper entry point and the required parent for the breeding loop.
